MODBUS RTU & ASCII plugin problem

Problem

I am using a trial version of the Serial Port Monitor and I am trying to use a Modbus plug in to talke to and view the Modbus traffic. The plug in is for RTU and ASCII.  The program under menu command does not recognize the plug-in but only directs me to free plug-in (which sends met to a program down load screen).  The plug-in is in a directory named Modbus in the program files for the Advanced Serial Port Monitor. How do I get the plugin to work.

Solution

Display the ITEM1 value, obtained by reading the MODBUS RTU at COM1 port on Excel

Problem

The PC is coupled with a PLC with MOBBUS-RTU. For a single register configured to be read at 40001 address, I obtain on the screen the following format:

#01#03#00#00#00#01#0A
#01#03#02#01#01#78#14 (bolded char are the data in register 40001),

For different decimal values in 40001 register I’m obtaining the following responses on screen:
